Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Wrist and Forearm Pain and Numbness | Repetitive Stress and Motion Injuries | Diagnosis and Treatment
If, like so many people today, you spend most of your day at a computer, running a cash register, installing a part over and over, or otherwise using your hands, you are at risk for developing carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). CTS occurs because of compression of a specific nerve in your wrist. You’ll generally know that you have carpal tunnel syndrome if there’s a “pins and needles” sensation in your thumb, index or middle fingers. There’s good news, though—chiropractic treatment has been demonstrated to relieve many of the symptoms of CTS. We can help.
At Premier Health Center, in Arlington, we have more than 20 years of experience providing relief to men and women in and around the Dallas-Fort Worth area who suffer from physical health problems, including carpal tunnel syndrome. Because of our decades in practice, we know what types of treatment really work. We emphasize consistent and comprehensive care in a relaxed atmosphere. We also understand that your time is important, so we won’t make you sit for long periods of time in our waiting room. To schedule an appointment, contact us online or call our offices at 817-261-6100.
The Benefits of Chiropractic Treatment When You Have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
In many instances, CTS stems from repetitive acts, either on your job or in your leisure time. We’ll look closely at your work habits, so that we can identify actions that cause or contribute to your condition. Specifically, we’ll assess the ergonomics of keyboards, computers, desks, chairs and other devices you use on a daily basis.
Science has also shown that misalignment of the cervical spine can be a contributing factor to carpal tunnel syndrome. If you have the classic symptoms of CTS, we’ll perform spinal adjustments, as necessary. We may also use other non-invasive strategies, such as massage or ultrasound therapy. We can also show you exercises that will alleviate your discomfort.
